Chloe is a vivacious Pointer that is true to her breed by being unremittingly obstinate. Her food obsession makes for easy training, but also makes for a bigger belly added with her allergies I’ve come to realize it would be cheaper and healthier to feed her only homemade dog treats. She’ll be on her dog food primarily, but there will be recipes for those days where I have time to cook for her.

There are certain things that you should never feed a dog. Always consult your vet before adding anything to your pets diet.

  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Small bones such as from fish or poultry
  • Caffeine-including Chocolate, Tea, or Coffee
  • Grapes or raisins
  • Raw Pork
  • Nuts peculiarly macadamia and almonds
  • Onions
  • Uncooked Garlic- Garlic powder is safe in small amounts
  • Cooked bones

Cooking for your dog is a fun healthy way to bond with your dog.
